Suggest good wifi modem or router for Airtel VDSL net

Hi guys. I have airtel modem 777VR1 with plan of 100 mbps . I do not get enough range in my home of two floors. now in order to get good wifi signal i want some suggestion. Also, as per airtel this modem 777vr1 does not support 100 mbps and i get around 40-60 mbps on wifi under good range and 80mbps with LAN cable. Airtel can provide me dual band router also, if ask.
Now what should i do?
1st option: Should i buy good router ? If yes, Which one? I looked at TP-Link archer C6.
2nd option: Should i buy VDSL Modem? If yes, which one? I do not know much about VDSL modems

Any help would be appreciated.

does 777VR1 support 100 mbps? I was given to understand that it supports upto 40 mbps only.

No, it is for 40 mbps but for me it peaks up to 60 mbps in WiFi and 85 mbps on LAN
