Hard Disk is not working correctly, confirmed that I need to get a new one, it's a Dell computer and it came with Western Digital Scorpio 320GB 5400 RPM HDD, got it in 2011.Thinking to get a 500GB this time, which company would you guys suggest? Going to get it from Nehru Place and would have them. hanger it because changing the HDD in this model is quite a task.

HDD was fine actually, just started facing performance issues with it and it just died. I use the PC just to watch movies and browsing and some Light room. The warranty on laptop is over! So, i guess it would be over on HDD :|

ssd is overkill.Unless you have an xps or alienware get a 7200 rpm hdd.
I stongly reccomend to buy either 750gb or 1tb hdd.

hgst launched the worlds first 2.5" 7200 rpm 1tb hdd.
Amazon.com: HGST Travelstar 2.5-Inch 1TB 7200RPM SATA III Internal Hard Drive Kit 0S03563: Computers & Accessories

either wait for the 1tb version or get 750 gb but you must get the 7200rpm one
btw which model you have and specs?

mine are Dell xps 15 (l502x)
core i5 2.4ghz-3.0ghz turbo
8 gb ddr3 ram
750gb hdd(7200rpm)
geforce m 525gt 1 gb video card
etc
