Hi,
I am planning to go for Tata Sky [tired of waiting for Big TV and No IPTV from Bharti as of now] and gonna use it in my computer. I spent hours regarding the TV tuner cards available in markets and reviews. Ended up with Pinnacle brand. Having few model numbers to go for, which are,

1. Pinnacle PCTV HD Card
2. Pinnacle PCTV Pro PCI

The things that confusing me are, PCTV 50i, PCTV PCI, PCTV Pro PCI, PCTV 100i/110i almost has the same functions and futures. Sent couple of mails to Pinnacle support and got confusing replies.

So far I've come to the conclusion to use Tata sky's RCA outputs [ video - yellow, audio - left and audio right (white and red) with the supplied converter given by Pinnacle. Pic is given below.

If anyone using this setup/pinnacle product kindly explain me the differences between those models and let me know whether this setup will work with good audio and video quality in my computer? Should I upgrade anything else?

My computer's specs are,

OS : Microsoft Windows XP Professional [SP2]
DirectX : 4.09.00.0904 (DirectX 9.0c)
CPU : DualCore AMD Athlon 64 X2, 2000 MHz (10 x 200) 3800+
MB : Asus A8N-VM (2 PCI, 1 PCI-E x1, 1 PCI-E x16, 4 DDR DIMM, Audio, Video, LAN)
Motherboard Chipset : nVIDIA GeForce 6100, AMD Hammer
System Memory : 896 MB (PC3200 DDR SDRAM) [Shared with the Display]
Video Adapter : NVIDIA GeForce 6100 (256 MB)
HDD : More than 1 TB.
Soundcard : Creative Live 5.1
Monitor : 17" Samsung LCD.

Do I've to update any configuration? Do you've any suggestions of TV tuner cards apart from these? I will be recording few programs, but need them in good quality (audio and video).

Any help/suggestions will be much appreciated :)

Regards..

ah, well; I'm using TS with a PCTV 50i on Windows Media Center. The only problem is you got to use 2 remotes: 1 for the STB given by TS and another media center remote. Also; on the PVR it'l show up as only 1 channel: so the guide from Microsoft will not work. If you want all the PVR functionality and Guide and EPG etc. Use a normal cable as it is a better option. If you want to STILL use DTH; well then like me you'll be stuck for many functions.

I am using PixelView PlayTv Pro 2.Its is awesome in recording and also Tv Viewing.I was using dishtv with that TvTuner and then i used Tata Sky,and now i am using SunDirect. All the 3 dth are working good.PlayTvPro 2 is verygood. Now PlayTv Pro 3 is also in the market.Pinnacle is also best.So its your choice.
