So @Nishant recently mentioned this one as he has been progressively replacing all fans at his place with these units.

Ceiling fans - Save with super efficient ceiling fans - Superfan

I am considering getting one for trial before I can decide on whether to start replacing all the fans progressively as well.

Opinions?

There are four models. Need to look into difference between them. The top end model has a remote which removes the need for a regulator so that sounds cool.

Great thing is that it is also available on Flipkart and other stores these days.

Yes there is a humming noise at low speed, especially on 3. The fan definitely emits a bit more noise overall if compared with the regular fans. The remote is flimsy and the feedback of buttons goes down in few months and there is no way you can get it repaired as it is a completely sealed remote. I have already got a new remote from them. No longer a fan of Superfan.

I too planned on replacing all the fans at my home with this, but after going through the recurring problems with it I decided against it.

Yup. It's quite noisy at low speeds. Not sure how much compared to a new regular fan. So do not get this if you want a low noise fan.

My 20 yr old "regular fan" still does not make any noise (unless u actually focus on hearing its noise)

This fan has turned out be a colossal disaster for me. All their replacement motors fail within few months. I have gone through a total of 5 6 replacements till now. Some become noisy, some goes completely dead, and on some only the LED light blinks. The last replacement sent to be a month ago failed yesterday; the LED just blinks once if we press an button on remote but the fan doesn't turn on. I'm done with them. No longer asking for replacements.

I switched to Atomberg Gorilla this May and it seems to be working well, period. Had installed Superfan in my parent's room after I got the replacement last month; took them a month to send me a replacement motor.

I got lucky with my unit. My first delivery was of course stolen on the way by India Post people. But the unit they eventually managed to deliver has been working fine :P Runs for 18-20 hours every day :P

I still wonder why are these motors failing at my place. We have 0 power fluctuations and get a stable 220-240v input. Even the inverter used is a Sine Wave Inverter too.

and power supply here is shit. i have to get up and change phase (?) at 3am because dhbvn decides 110v is enough for my house.

I had sent an email to them about this yesterday in which I mentioned that I no longer need a replacement. Just now got a call from them. They are sending someone to my place to check and fix the problem. I insisted it is not needed as I'm done with it but they're still sending someone as 'We want to give our best service to you saaar!'.
