So @Nishant recently mentioned this one as he has been progressively replacing all fans at his place with these units.

I am considering getting one for trial before I can decide on whether to start replacing all the fans progressively as well.

Opinions?

There are four models. Need to look into difference between them. The top end model has a remote which removes the need for a regulator so that sounds cool.

Great thing is that it is also available on Flipkart and other stores these days.

Service is good no doubt. But it would be a pain to call electrician everytime to swap motor/fan everytime it fails and end up spending more than what this fan potentially saves.

So a guy visited my place and replaced the motor again. Working fine, period. He also checked the electrical wiring and didn't find any problems. If it fails again, it goes straight to kabadiwala.

I had got a Superfan X1 in the beginning of July along with an Atomberg Renesa. The Atomberg definitely feels more premium and sturdy, the Superfan feels flimsy.

Anyway the Superfan went dead early October, raised a support ticket on 7 Oct, same day someone reached to me over WhatsApp asked for my address, was shared the same day. No update after that, followed-up on 12 Oct and was told there is no direct service available in my area so they would be sending a replacement PCB which I would need to install myself or get an electrician to do it. When asked how are you sure this would fix the issue, they are like, this is what fails all the time and just replace it and I'd be good.

Then no update, I followed-up couple of times, and finally on 21 Oct, they replied saying due to material shortage they couldn't dispatch the replacement PCB. Anyway later that evening got an SMS saying my replacement has been arranged and would be dispatched shortly. Received it a few days after.

I was away for few weeks and today I thought would give a try installing it myself, it wasn't that bad, just took sometime to remove the fan, dismantle everything and put it back. They had shared the instruction video as well

Overall if you look at it, the Atomberg costs the same, I'd any day go for it. The failure rate seems really high for Superfan taking into account @Nishant's experience as well.

I dumped it long ago. I've replaced all the ceiling fans in my home to Atomberg (total 4 fans - three Efficio and one Renesa+). The oldest Atomberg I have had a PCB failure once during warranty period (maybe a year ago). Was serviced the next day itself.

My superfan is still doing fine. But I like the atomberg I have a bit more. Ability to slow down the fan through the night is better than the stupid speed changing feature on superfan.

@varkey @Nishant @Sushubh I am planning to buy 6 BLDC fans. Any suggestion on brand and model?
I have seen people complaining about some weird noises. Is it true? Does it happen with every BLDC fan or just defective pieces?

The budget is around a max of 4k each. Atomberg Studio seems to have the best air delivery with 290CMM in this range.

Also please suggest from where should I buy it- Amazon, Flipkart, or their own websites? How good will be the service in cities like Patna as there is no local authorized store of Atomberg?

@imdarkray Based on my experience with Superfan and Atomberg, I find Atomberg devices have a better build quality and overall performance. My Atomberg Renesa does't make any noise, but Superfan does make a noise at low or high speed (don't remember now). Also, the Renesa I mostly use in speed position 3, never had to use it in the full speed.

I would get from wherever it is the cheapest. Superfan didn't have service in my area so they just sent the replacement board and I had to install it myself.

+1 for Atomberg. I've replaced all the fans at home to Atomberg. Their service is good too (probably because they're based out of Navi Mumbai and I'm closer to Navi Mumbai).

My atomberg is much newer compared to superfan so hard to compare noise level after few years of usage. Get atomberg. Maybe contact company and try to get lower pricing on bulk order.
