Tamil Nadu Govt. plans to run cable TV services

One good news for TamilNadu people expecially for chennaites:

MUMBAI: Tamil Nadu chief minister and DMK supremo M Karunanidhi is planning to hit Sun Group where it hurts most. The state government is preparing the ground to enter the cable TV business, an area where Kalanithi Maran's SCV is strongly entrenched.

If the govt cable comes soon the chennai people can throw away the scv connection. I hope this happens soon and i would delighted too.......:thumbsup:.

First tamilnadu government wanted to run the cable service exclusively. When told that this move will land it in legal wrangles, it appointed a committee for study and recommendations. The committee has advised the government to run an integrated service - cable-internet-telephony. So it is now writing to the central government for permission.(why can't they apply as everybody else does?) Two mangoes with one stone - party/family owned communication business and derailment of sumangali cable vision of sun group.
