I would prefer to wait for these people to start their rental schemes. In such a scenario, since they would own the stb, they are responsible for its maintenance. Therefore, no AMC.

hehe.. thats what i am waiting for. DTH and cable op (with CAS) both wud have to offer rent scheme.

Yes, in that case, it will be easier to switch between DTH operators. Presently since we have paid the cost of STB and it can't be used with other DTH, we don't have any option.

Even though the STBs could be rented, the DTH providers might charge us for the installation. I dont think they will give the customers the option of self installation of the dish antenna. -Ravi
