Tata Sky DTH: Good News: 4 new Movie channels will be launched

So now every time a new channel comes along..they come up with a ridiculous package name and charge you like crazy...These are movie channels that the local cable operator beams free of charge..
45rs doesnt look too much but why this extra ADDOn?
We would have understood TS if they would have added all English movie channels in one pack and put the rate but here they already had few english movie channels but now again they put new ADDON but adding few more .Anyway those who want will go for it.

more channels in that Cosmo pack? I dont think so they will add.BTW what are the channels now missing? Maybe Fox channels.
But knowing Tata Sky they will put new ADDON pack for Fox channels.

first of all,nice to know that TS added new channels..but even if u pay the price, are u going to get the quality for it..??wb also carries ads...mgm and tcm are the one which have less ads or no ads...but they are still showing cut version...then whats the point in wasting whole money for these crap..ndtv lumeire is also same..they have ads and they are also not showing uncut version...if u wanna enjoy a movie it should be ad free and break free and it should be as original as it dvd..(at least during 11 pm -6am)so its waste shedding lots of money for dth or tv,instead download movies from Internet and enjoy it for the fullest...once my mega pack will be over i will subscribe to south starter and then i will enjoy the freedom of internet and i will watch movies,tv shows and any thing i want...thats the power of internet...but if govt. makes it mandatory to remove ads from pay channels especially movie channels and allow to show uncut movies...( i don't need porn,i need the movie uncut which gives full meaning to the movie and full credits to technicians and director of the movie)i saw a HBO presentation called true blood...its an unique series and it so good..but i felt the series was cut and trimmed in such a way that the whole point of watching the series remained pointless...it was waste of time and money too as the story itself gets unnoticed due to this stupid trimming and cutting....then i saw it on the Internet...kudos to director for that script and every weekend i download it and watch...i wish i could watch all episodes in a stretch if i had got time for it...so the point is :--subscription to channels in India in the current scenario of rigid rules and regulations which affect the artisitic essence of the programming quality and genre is a waste and to spend money on tv too....Internet is the only option left...lets hope that ,one day rules will change and we will get real value for our hard earned money..looking forward to such a dawn of freedom of expression ........

I would think Tata Sky has created the Cosmos pack as a place holder for new English channels. Most likely, if they happen to get a couple of English GEC or Movie channels, they would be added to the list, making the package more attractive. I remember that's what they did with Lifestyle Gold. The package felt costly earlier on, but later they kept new channels to the same pack, making it atleast look cheaper.

Freedom of expression is a grossly overrated and misused term, anywhere in the world. As far as watching on the internet is concerned, unfortunately broadband penetration in the country is not at levels that would allow it to replace movies on TVs. However, the point about pay channels makes great sense. When they already have ads, why do they need to charge the customers. And vice versa. I doubt though if any action would be taken regarding this.
