Tata Sky HD DTH: Star Sports HD Started

What is strange is, a friend of mine on DishHD mentioned he only receives Wimbledon broadcasts on Star Sports HD

There was a day when StarSports HD did not show the 2nd parallel match and only had the Wimbledon banner on. Maybe thats the day he made that comment?

Er, Star Sports HD isnt a full blown channel, We only get the HD broadcasts of the Wimbledon/World Cup matches. Otherwise, its just a static image showing times when the respective events shall begin.

Also, they HD broadcast is limited to only the match for the WC, and for wimbledon, the pre show and post show are also in HD.

He did it yesterday when I was switching between Netherlands Cameroon on ESPN and Japan Denmark on StarSports.

He had to resort to watching the Japan Denmark match on vanilla Star Sports, not on HD

HD is unfortunately not same as SD's higher version. HD programming is limited to the actual events. No replays at all! In general though, I do not think the HD channels would carry the same programming as the SDs.

HD cameras can feed into the SD feed, however reverse is not true. Do not know if they doing any SD recording at all. But its possible that the eventual feeds for SD and HD are a little different. Don't know for sure though, and cannot confirm as I cannot watch the 2 feeds next to each other.

You misunderstood what fulcrum said. There are replays during the match. There are just no repeat telecasts of matches the next day, or anything like that.

how is the qaulity of normal sd channels in Tata Sky hd, do u get the pixelation or struck pic problem evern in tatasky hd...

F1 isnt available in HD all over the world. Wont be broadcast in HD till 2011 I'm afraid.
