Got this letter today:

I guess this is why they have changed all channel numbers.

people in small cities wont probably get the letter till after tomorrow considering the increased packages being sent around this time.who sends letters these days, they should have sent an email plus an sms/automated call.anyways did call them just now. don't want to end up spending 2500 odd bucks on this.

Our building has a common Tata Sky dish antenna. I wonder whether they have sent this letter to our society secretary.

I am still wondering how they will do this for people with MDU connections. We only get one wire pre wired to the tv point thru a shaft coming down the roof. Though they use a complicated looking splitter in each room, it should not be able to tune the lnb separately for vertical polarity. Still no call to me from any1 in TS regarding this. Let's hope for the best.

Didn't got any such letter. We have 4 TV's out of which 2 are HD setup. Does this automatically mean we are using splitter?

I have a different question here.

Why would a splitter interfere with addition of channels?

Becoz the new Sat will have Vertical TPs and having splitters doesn't help

No,
Splitters were used in case of DVR (HD and SD).. twin cabling is required only in case of DRVs (HD plus).
