Tata Sky Ltd., co-owned by TATA and STAR has forged an alliance with Ubona Technologies to announce the adoption of Interactive Voice Response (IVR) application at Tata Sky call centers, enabling reliable speech recognition to its subscribers. Devised particularly for the Indian milieu, Ubona platform will help the Tata Sky subscriber reduce the unnecessary waiting period, as it facilitates transactions on phone, using voice as a medium for navigation. “The overwhelming demand for additional packages has flooded our call centre with a vast number of callers and it is our constant endeavor to focus on the service delivery to all our valued subscribers. Thus the introduction of Ubona not just increases the efficiency of service by automating it, but also gives our customer care executives valuable time to service other critical calls,” Mr. Vikram Mehra, Chief Marketing Officer, Tata Sky Ltd. said. At present, the feature is rolled out in all 3 call centre locations of Tata Sky including Chandigarh, Pune and Hyderabad. Currently backed only in English language, other Indian languages like Hindi are anticipated to be rolled out soon.
