Hello friends,I am new to Tata Sky. A friend of mine donated his STB and have installed it andsubscribed to South Supreme Sports for 240 bucks.I have been a cable user all my life. In cable the channels range from 0 to 100.Just, Press Next and you see the next channel.Whereas in DTH, You need to keep pressing next channel until you find onebecause you wouldnt have subscribed to all the channels the operator provides.I tried Favourites But it lets me store not more than 20 channels. Is it possible for me to arrange the channels from 0-100 or 0-150... just like we do it in cable. I am asking this because this is user friendly. My mom wants to change a channeleverytime she calls me saying using TataSky is difficult not as easy as cable.Guess what, its hard to remember channels as well. The Guide button doent help. Every time you want to channel. You have to go back to the Guide and select. Its cumbersome. How are you guys managing. any way can i make it work like cable for changing channels.

I've only 14 channels selected in "my pack". If i choose more than 20 channels in the future then i'll face the same situation here. Experts, pour some inputs here.

To be honest, it is difficult initially, but later you get used to it. For beginners, the easiest in my opinion is to put the most watched channels in Favourites. 20 is usually sufficient for 2 - 3 people. Try to keep unrelated channels in Favourites. No point putting all sports or all movies, or all cartoons in favourites, as they are all available in sequence, and so you can just jump to the first channel in the sequence and continue from there. Finally, you always have the Guide to select a category and select the first channel in that.

Nopes you can't do anything about it. The favourites feature lets you store only 20 channels and if you want to switch to channels that are not in your favourite list, then you have to remember either the ch# or go through the Electronic List. Yeah i know its cumbersome but thats the way it is... Once you remember the ch#, it's not as difficult as you think. Cable's a different story it does not come with a STB hence you dont have to deal with it. The Analog Cable mode in TV lets you switch channels, tune the channels just the way you want but with DTH STB, it's with the STB itself.

Referring to the previous post, just remember the starting ch, for example: for movies- (341-Star Movs,345- Sony Pix) so you can use the ch+/ch- to see the movie channels in that sequence, same goes for sports(403 -Star Sports, 405-espn), for english news chns(532) etc etc..

You will not be able to rearrange the channels as per ur convenience. But especially in case of Tata Sky, channels are arranged in such a way that its very easy to remember the channel numbers. e.g. Hindi GEC channels starts from 1, sports channels start from 4 etc. In some other DTH ops, they have arranged channels in very confusing way, like news channels end on 545, and regional start from 546.I have been using Tata Sky for 4 years, and initially i faced the difficulty like urs. But today, even my mom and dad also know the channel numbers of almost all their fav channels.U wil get ur problem solved automatically.
