WTF. I don't need the backstory of every major and minor character. I think the director forgot which show's spin-off he was making.

WTF is this show? There are 5-10 minute long scenes with either people crying about their past or just talking about random stuff not even remotely related to the main plot. Each scene is stretched out for no reason. Also, there are no early '70s vibes to it. And there is barely any action. The last episode had a small 3-4 minute scene and today just less than a minute.

But godamn it must have cost the producers very much getting rights for all those old songs.

PSA: Whatever you do in life, stay away from this show. It suffers from the same problem that Dr Strange 2 did. The writer and the director probably never saw any of the John Wick movies. I had to fast-forward through the finale to avoid all the boring parts. lol Total runtime across all 3 episodes is around 4.5 hours (1.5 x 3) which is way too much. If I was the editor, I would chop all the 3 episodes into a 30-minute short movie and tbh you wouldn't miss a thing.

The action scenes are the worst. Whenever they had the chance to show a high-intensity action, the director told the cameraman, OK. let's leave the room and let them sort it offscreen. Whatever action happened on the screen - the good part was already in the trailer. The rest of it was just people firing everywhere in the hope that a few bullets would hit a bad guy. John killed around 400+ people and it all happened on camera. But here in the finale, the 50-60 people who did die, died either because of bombs appearing conveniently whenever the good guys needed them or they died offscreen. On-screen, barely 10-12 people died and in the most stupid and jarring way. Winston wanted to kill Mel Gibson's character from the beginning but in the end, he died of a single bullet from a lady cop who appeared out of nowhere.

A good 90-minute movie can work with 10 main characters and make them all look interesting. But this 4.5-hour show with the same number of characters and so much dialogue (even Aaron Sorkin would fall asleep) made each character boring as fuck. There was zero character development. And they changed their nature instantly. The lady cop who was hunting Winston for 2/3rd of the show ended up joining him with just 1 single line of apology from him.

I am waiting for Ryan George to make a video for this.
