'The Queen's Gambit' co-creator Scott Frank is developing an adaptation of Vladimir Nabokov's novel 'Laughter in the Dark' with star Anya Taylor-Joy. Frank also has plans for a TV series based on Sam Spade, the detective played by Humphrey Bogart in 1941's The Maltese Falcon.
Scott Frank, writer of the series The Queen Gambit, teased plans for a TV series based on the character Sam Spade, the detective famously played by Humphrey Bogart in 1941's The Maltese Falcon. The planned six-episode series will star Clive Owen as an older version of Spade living in the south of France.
