He also chickened out after 2002. Could have gotten rid of Modi right then but he didn't. I think Arun Shourie has talked about this. He had plans to replace him as the Gujarat CM but something happened and he decided not to. I think in the meeting he sensed that he had lost control over the party with majority of the top leadership happy with the direction they were taking.

Yup, Vajpayee wanted to fire muudi, but Advani(HM) threatened with resignation if he fired him. Similarly, jaitley and other fundamentalists said it was fine with the new approach taken by BJP.
It was then he realised that things are no more in his hands.
Explained articulately in "Pradhanmantri" TV series.

On the other hand we don't know how bajpayee and advani would have behaved if they had the same level of control over both houses with no alliance member having the power to topple the government.
If you have followed Sudhendra Kulkarni, he gives insights into Vajpayee's nature. I think the would have followed restraint as he was a staunch proponent of "Ram Rajya".

How his power hungry ministers and radicalists would have behaved, thereby influencing Vajpayee's behaviour would be another story.

On another note, Vajpayee wanted to resign when he was sidelined on the post-godhra-muudi-future meeting. Jaswant Singh convinced him to continue.
I don't remember if this was in mainstream media but Vajpayee was rooting for BJP's defeat in 2004, according to his sister.

We are more inclined to buying a product for Rs. 1000 after a 50% discount, than buying the same product without discount at Rs. 1000. And this is how the entire world of e-commerce is functioning.

Correction: Rs. 1100 after 50% discount instead of Rs 1000 without discount!

he was pming multiple members asking them to join his telegram group. i have no desire to read personal messages. but i might now open the section once in a while to check for similar activity. i really don't mind people conversing on telegram or whatsapp or any other third party app for solving their issues. but i do mind people with competing platform using personal conversations platform on this board to message members of this board to join that platform. as you can see here i really don't need to open individual messages to see what's going on. one quick look is good enough to highlight something weird is going on. hope this helps.

if any member is uncomfortable with me having the option of reading existing messages, please feel free to copy them to somewhere private and delete those conversations.

I should also add here that some folks here have a private telegram group for Jio iirc. It was also shared around this board. I really don't mind people creating a private group to chat with each other. But what he did is quite unacceptable.

This is a forum, it's meant for 'discussions', but if people are directing members to other platforms, I personally think it's unacceptable.

What I found weird is that those admins are following up with people who are leaving their groups.

I mean, koi tumhara group chodhe, tumhe bura laga, but when you're asking members to take their discussions away from this forum, wo sahi hai. :p

Got hold of the novel called " The girl who goes for eye to eye." It is part of Millennium series. An interesting read.
