The Ridiculous Airtel Broadband Plans

The word "new" should be removed off the topic. I don't think there has been any new plans introduced any time this year. At least, not in Chennai.

We all know that airtel gives free local minutes with every package of theirs. What happens if you use them to make STD calls or international calls? Will it be deducted from it?

I think minutes have their validy specified against them like onnet/offnet/std/isd.
So you can only use them against call for which they are valid

Sure? How can i know how many minutes i've utilised?

Just spoke to a CC guy.........he confirmed that 8 MBPS plans are feasible in my area............thinking of shifting to the Rapid 15GB plan.....(really feeling helpless to pay 1299+tax for 15GB at 8MBPS......but at-least the post FUP speed will be 512 kbps, which will allow me to surf webpages ....that is currently impossible with post FUP speed of 256 kbps).
He said he can take the request over phone and will be with immediate effect.
Is it true????coz i have read somewhere in this forum that it takes 7-8 days yo check feasibility in the area...then they confirm...and all those crap.
Should i make request over phone or put an email.......just to keep a proof...

Advise me please.................

I think the migration will happen in 2-3 business(!) days. Once you ask for a migration by phone or e-mail, they will see if the speeds are feasible in your area and call you in 2-3 days. They will tell you if it's feasible or not. If it's feasible, they will migrate you immediately once you give the confirmation.
I'm also considering moving to 8mbps (if it's feasible) later this month or next. Honestly, Turbo 150 (150 GB @4mbps) is not enough for me these days. Cunningly, Airtel is offering 175 GB only for 2 mbps and 8mbps speeds but not for 4mbps. I can't go back to 2mbps after getting used to 4mbps. So, I'll have to upgrade to 8mbps.
Last year when I checked, I was told that 8mbps is not feasible for my connection. Since then, I've been contacted a few times by Airtel asking if I want to migrate to 8mbps Rapid 175 or whatever it's called.

what would be the uplaod speed on these rapid plans? airtel mum shows rapid 1599 100gb 16mbps. i am currently on vdsl 2049 90gb with mtnl.
