Subliminal messages is completely fine for me. People have been manipulating each other since forever, its not a big deal.
What i find annoying is that when it is done in an absurd nonsensical manner.
Some adverts like car companies can and do use it well. But it's just so obvious and stupid when you have an adverts sexualising soft drinks or chocolates or ice creams. And it might even work, but it's just so obvious and dumb I wonder who the target audience is. A child wouldn't be affected much by a sexualised soft drink, I think the david beckham or sachin tendulkar pepsi ad would work better for a kid, and any adult should be able to clearly see past the stupid obnoxious desire creation that is being done.
