Things to remember B4 selecting a DTH brand

HI All,I have read all your posts. Why we switching for DTH when our cablewala is charging less than DTH??? Because of Picture clarity, no signal loss & after sales service. Is it?Think a DTH service provider is giving the service as such as cable!!! Shock??? Here I list what a customer wants for uninterrupted service from DTH Service Provider.1 - Picture Clarity - No freezing2 - Audio Clarity - no itching in between while you watch TV?3 - Box Failure - How many days it will take a service provider to replace the Receiver?4 - After warranty - Do we get service?5 - Call centre - Do they responds to queries immediately?6 - Service Centre - Do any of the DTH Service provider has DTH service office in your area who can respond to queries in short time?7 - Recharge - Do any service provider has smart way(Immediate picture after recharge) of account recharge?8 - Package Drop - Do any service providers are not charging for package dropThese above things everyone must remember while going for a product. We are in 21st century man... People are moving for better than the Best why do we still hang along with the Free & Offers.Remember Free & Offers are used by the service providers to get people in their bucket, once you get in then? My 8 questions will highlight in your mind and dont get regret for choosing the Brand.Happy Watching!!!
 
All Good points!I doubt if any of the DTH providers can mark a 'Yes' on any of the above.DTH in India is still in its infancy stage. Customer service sucks and clarity is not worth talking about.I am happy with my cable wallah - I get most of the channels which are more clearer than DTH and I get them in all bedrooms at no extra cost.Unforunately in India the aim of the DTH providers seems to be more on increasing customer number than in providing good customer service.Unless we have rules in place governing DTH functioning - they will continue taking customers for a ride.
 
I have recently got Airtel DTH here in Haryana. Picture quality is so much better than the cable walla. But by far the best is to able to watch the channels non dubbed in Hindi and in the native English language for Discovery, Cartoon network etc. Now I know cable walla's show these channels in English in South I was in Manipal for 5 yrs. but Here in haryana its a totally different scene. I had a problem with my Airtel DTH power supply so I called up customer care it took me 40 tries to get connected to there customer care. On asking they said apparently all over India people are facing problems with the satellite signal. And they only have 2 customer care centers which take calls for the whole of India, One in Banglore and the other one (well I forget where). Anyway its a shame for a company like Airtel. Anywho, I told them about the power supply they said they will come at 7 pm the same day, and they didnot turn up then I called again (40 tries to get connected) and registered a complaint for the complaint and they said 10 am next morning guess what they didnt turn up, called up again (40 calls)complaint for the complaint for the complaint, and finally they came around 5 pm and replaced the power supply,now the service was not really slow, the problem is they didnot stick to their commitment. I guess because of the huge problem they are facing right now. Over all I am satisfied. I asked CC people who came about the warrenty its only 6 months they said and after that we are on our own.
