Thinking of Getting Alliance Broadband – What Should I Do First?

I understand your concern, but I checked using a few “What is my IP” / “Who is my ISP” websites, and they all identify my ISP as Alliance Broadband.

I also ran a tracert to google.com, and here's the result:

Tracing route to google.com [142.250.183.14]
over a maximum of 30 hops:

1 1 ms 1 ms 1 ms 192.168.1.1
2 4 ms 5 ms 4 ms 10.27.194.1
3 7 ms 5 ms 5 ms 103-141-92-17.bb.sswl.in [103.141.92.17]
4 * * 16 ms 103-141-92-1.bb.sswl.in [103.141.92.1]
5 * * * Request timed out.
6 48 ms 48 ms 48 ms node-202-78-239-65.alliancebroadband.in [202.78.239.65]
7 58 ms 57 ms 59 ms 216.239.43.137
8 48 ms 49 ms 49 ms 142.250.62.66
9 61 ms 60 ms 60 ms 72.14.232.34
10 60 ms 60 ms 61 ms 142.250.208.227
11 59 ms 59 ms 59 ms 142.250.214.109
12 57 ms 56 ms 57 ms bom07s30-in-f14.1e100.net [142.250.183.14]

As you can see, hops 6 onward clearly show Alliance Broadband servers, which supports what the LCO told me — that the line is from Alliance, but SSWL handles routing/local services. So it looks like a shared infrastructure setup, even if the plan and billing are through SSWL.

Honestly, I don’t have much technical knowledge about this — just a few things I’ve picked up by casually reading online. So if I’m misunderstanding something or missing anything important, please feel free to correct me.

I did check my IP on a site called BGP Tools, and it shows this page: https://bgp.tools/as/132757

From what little I could understand, this AS (Autonomous System) is linked to SSWL, which might explain the local routing part. But beyond that, I’m not really sure how all this works or what makes an ISP a "reseller" in technical terms.

Appreciate any clarification if you’re familiar with this kind of setup!

Sswl internally routes all its traffic through alliance broadband. Yes plans are different but its alliance broadband only.

Reviewed QTR 400 plan over here -> QTR 400 Plan review. Mostly got above 400mbps almost 24x7 but initially after switching to this plan, during peak hours, got max to max 250 mbps then complained in alliance helpline 2-3 times, they contacted LCO and LCO changed some config from their end and now now matter what time it is, I get 400+ mbps both download/upload. Also, Alliance doesn't provide a wifi 6 router afaik. For the complete speed over wifi, use any wifi 6 router.

Sorry. Wrong link. Unable to edit so here is the corrected link - Alliance Broadband QTR 400 Plan Review
