TN cable TV operators to black out Kannada channels
2 Apr, 2008

CHENNAI: Cable TV operators in Tamil Nadu on Wednesday decided to black out Kannada satellite TV Channels in retaliation to the Karnataka Cable TV operators decision to ban Tamil Channels in that state on the Hogenakkal issue.

Kayal Ilavarasu, President, Tamil Nadu Cable TV owners association, told PTI that the cable TV operators association had requested the Sumangali Cable Vision and Hathway, two major Multi-system operators in the state, not to beam Kannada Channels from this evening.

The cable TV operators would also participate in the fast called by the Tamil film industry here on April 4, he said.

Stepping up their protests on Hogenakkal issue, pro-Kannada groups yesterday announced blacking out Tamil TV channels.

Keep language and politics separate idiots. An eye for an eye will make the whole world blind.

Tamil channels blocked in Karnataka cable networks and vice versa.
What will the Tamil people do in Karnataka, chose the next option - DTH.
Cable TV idiots..... you are digging your own graves. Why cable TV should suffer for the water issue when there are thousand other services? Why they are not blocking the rails from neighboring state? Movies? The flights coming in? Books and literature? Road and Lorry transportation? Telephone and wireless lines? Water coming in and going out through rivers? The wind blowing from east or west?..... Maybe they can also make it illegal to speak other languages inside the state
Pathetic, Barbaric....

it is unnecessary to bring in cable tv and language issues in politics.... ppl are going mad :wall:

TN film industry goes for Hunger strike... Look whats happening now... kannada film industry also goes for hunger strike...it was karnataka who started involving language issue in this hogenakkal controversy.... it is really shame on kannada film industry....

It's election time in Karnataka. BTW when are next elections in TN? Surely ruling govt would have benefited if it was now
