For me Vi is hit or miss, sometimes it works, other times it doesn't. Same with my BSNL number. Same with BSNL fiber.

After this hike, mostly everyone will shift to broadband or fiber and everyone will get quality service.

Not happening untill base prices hits 300 and combined with data hits 500. People think mobile data as mobile broadband and there won't be an incentive to jump the fiber bandwagon unless prices increases further to match the fiber prices. Public wifi would have been a great alternative but telcos have their own reason to not allow it to succeed.

Many parts of the country depend on wireless connectivity as its the only option. Fiber connectivity for all is a long way off maybe even nor technically or financially viable. Public wifi is one way out but what about security of public wifi? Vodafone in my area is absolutely crap for sometime MTNL 3G was better till they went downhill.

I had ported from jio to idea because in my neighborhood they had less consumers hence better data speeds. Now idea network is worse than bsnl.
