To see all Free to air TV channels in india

Is it possible to view all Free to air Free TV channels using a dish/receiver at home in india.

hello brother, isnt that suppose to be the most dumb question??the answer is YES YOU CAN ...Since you are in southern india like me at Bangalore (my bith place incidently is tiruvarur nr thanjavur or Tanjore) you would require a little bigger size of dish compared to northern india as the footprints of most of the sattellites like NSS / ARAB SAT / INSAT / Thaisat etc are concentrated on Asia pacific / south east asia, a 8- 10 meter dish should be good enough I suppose, multiple C band / KU Band - LNB / feedhorns would help you track multiple satellites with out much physical allignments, a diseqc switch may also be thaught of. A good anolugue and / or digital dvb s2/s4 hardware receiver like scientific atlanta / nds can be used. A motorised dish can help you avoid repeated physical alignment. And as far as tracking satellite FTA TV /Radio stations & their settings is concerned use some help from websites like Cable & satellite india, satcodx etc... There ae atleast 400+ FTA TV + radio channels (other than what is permitted by prasar Bharati, Ministry of I&B) that can be viewed / listened from INDIA ranging from Russian, thai, chinese, mandarin, Arabic, pakistani, nepalese, Bangla, Srilankan channels to our very own INDIAN channnels... What's the best cable and type for DTH - fta and otherwise?

Yes, I know SP road to some extent, but I sure would like to keep SP road trips down to the bare minimum :grin:A few queries before I start.I am looking for a system with a motorized antenna which can scan the Bangalore skies for all available FTA signals.What size and type of motorized antenna should I look for? Any particular brands? Do these control dish azimuth, elevation and LNB polarization? Are they controlled through the STB or do you need separate controls?What's a good LNB(single,dual), receiver and the type of cable required?What's the kind of budget required for each of these items - motorized dish, STB, lnbs, etc?Sorry for the big # of queries, but I think I need to be prepared with a list of things I need to buy before I go to SP road. You have blind scan stb then scan cable tv plz. Dont direct connect it to the stb but get close both cables & scan & give information. Thanks.
