Recently just for the sake, I flashed my old TP-Link Archer A6 with the latest stable OpenWRT firmware, while using WAN over DHCP/static worked fine but while using PPPOE, the speeds diminished a lot with speeds ranging from 20-30Mbps on a 500Mbps connection.
The CPU usage usually hovers about 1-5%, so I'm not sure what's the issue.
Oh, and when I activate 5GHZ Radio, the router just goes into a boot loop.

My plan was to use it as a load-balancer, but I guess it's not possible this way.
It's a TP-Link Archer A6 version3, with the MediaTek dual-core processor.

Please flash the 22.03 rc1 and test.
SYSUPGRADE ONLY.

After you do this, from Firewall activate Software and Hardware offloading.

Before enabling 5ghz, set channel to 36 and 80mhz.

I still haven't managed to move past ~100 Mbps download over 5Ghz with wpad-wolfssl, it's actually slightly worse on 22.03-rc1 with higher CPU usage. Is this just me? Upload is fine so it may be mt76 firmware.

At least it doesn't segfaults on IPv6CP reset by peer so I'll take it.
