Travel plans will fall on track with Paytm’s IRCTC Rail Bookings

India travels most on its railroads. Over 30 million Indians travel with IRCTC (Indian Railway Catering & Tourism Corporation) every day. This is clearly India’s single largest group of travellers. At Paytm, we are bringing the entire railways network to you. Our travel marketplace will now support IRCTC rail ticket bookings.

In other awesome news, while the Paytm Wallet was already accepted on the IRCTC platform, we also power the payment gateway on IRCTC’s app now.

More good news I suppose.

It used to be like that but then they opened it even for tatkal tickets.

irctc own wallet app works fine I hear. Paytm wallet only works half an hour after booking starts. example for ac tickets which open at 10am, paytm wallet only works from 10:30am which defeats the entire purpose imo

Now check fare and availability upfront when you make train reservations

In our recent Android app update (version 5.9.0 and above), we will show you the train fare and availability information upfront when you make your rail bookings. We have also tweaked our sort algorithm so trains with available seats will automatically rank higher on your search results.
So how will this benefit you?
In our earlier avatar, we showed you details like train name, number, route & schedule, departure and arrival timings along with the name of stations. We would show you trains based on their departure timings. That means, you would often choose a train, only to find out you’ll be on the waitlist.
We have now started storing the fare and availability information for trains and will show you that information upfront for a majority of the routes. We will also show you the exact time we fetched this data from IRCTC. This will make your train reservations easier as you’ll be able to take a more informed decision.
