Hello everyone, wanted to know if this is normal or not,

After jio merged the the dual band (having seperate ssid) into a single ssid, but I still have two ssid with both the bands

Is this normal?

Thank you,
1. There is an option in the app but after I disable one ssid and restart the app it gets enabled again. App is no use

2. No option to disable from the router page

3. I raised a ticket service engineers came, tried to explain to them they did not understand, they ran a speedtest, told me that everything was fine and closed the ticket

Hey @AD007 yeah after the recent firmware update, the old Jio routers automatically merged both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands into a single SSID.The newer router models already come like that out of the box both bands are merged and switch automatically based on range.
So right now, there’s no option to manually separate them.
If you want individual control over both bands, the only solution is to use an external router.

Saw on Twitter the same issue with airtel broadband. I'm assuming they're on the same Sercomm router like Jio.
Theie issue got resolved form customer care or some backend team.
Good Luck finding the executive who knows what SSIDs are 😅
