Kinda reminds of icq from years ago... started as a lean mean client and 3 yrs later it was taking up more ram than 10 apps combined ... totally lost its way and lost its client base to msn/yahoo

guess they all are about choice customize and use as much as u feel like

I don't need anything extra, the site display as it is is responsive and easy to use.Is there no way to preserve its current maybe classic look in the later versions ? maybe a lightweight skin.Not everyone reading this site has broadband.

that is the whole point. the light skins are pretty heavy too. that is why i love bbpress. anyone seen tradeshade? i have messed it pretty badly with ad placement though. have to fix that crap...

Wow, i got no idea what u guys are talkin abt when u say ipv6, server attacks and what not. But yeah, bloated programs are a big annoyance these days. Developers seem to think the more useless crap they add the more users will love it. Case in example..the latest nero version is a two cd package. I mean it's a cd burning program for christ's sake. I deselected all the junk during the installation and the essentials ended up taking just 55 MB out of the 950 MB install package. Says it all. Btw, think the interface is fine as it is although the add reply toolbar is hella confusing. Would be nice if u could add a small help pop up page stating in short what each button does. And whatever u do, don't make the page anymore heavier........and ignore the idiots ppl. We're losing the plot a wee bit here. Most of the recent posts have been dealing with banned members and lame threats although they're quite amusing

why dont you try one of the free phpBB or punBB on OpenBSD? i hear punBB is more secure (from some OpenBSD zealots at metawire.org)

vishalrao, this board is secure enough. If it is running on GNU/Linux then there is no reason to worry at all. Script kiddies would have a field day on a Windoze server but not on a GNU/Linux server
