Article says it would use the photo already in their database. They are going to do face authentication with the 1.3mp photos taken from laptop cameras. Impressive stuff.

Department of Telecom puts Aadhaar based face authentication on hold - The Economic Times

this is from yesterday. i assume it has no relevance now that mobile linking has been called illegal by the supreme court. at least till the time government finds a loophole or basically just ignore the supreme court.
