UIDAI: Warning against printing of plastic Aadhaar cards

I got mine printed on plastic card from a camp organized in society by some Yes Bank Partner, they charged Rs.80
and got pdf from website only.

I got 2 original Aadhaar cards delivered yesterday through courier because I changed my mobile no using the update site twice. Both cards delivered are the original cards. So for eg: If you wanna change any detail in the Aadhaar update site like your mobile no. then you will get a duplicate original card delivered within a month. I got 3 original cards now, one with old mobile no. and 2 with new mobile no. :D

But there is no guarantee that this will work as there is nothing written about this officially on Aadhaar website

Yep I updated mobile of everyone and got new cards!! :D

You get it if you change address too.

I added family relation (son of / daughter of) and also got new card!!

So trick is nice.

But I suppose they will stop it once they detect the abuse!

PS: I did not abuse - I had genuine reason

@igloo - for mobile update you to have send physical form (no proof required for mobile / email only update)
Here is page with instructions:
https://ssup.uidai.gov.in/web/guest/ssup-home

Once mobile and email are updated - then future updates can be done online here:
https://ssup.uidai.gov.in/update
(I changed address for one person - earlier there was slight mistake - and got new card!)

I am confused. Why is this abuse? Aadhaar is supposed to be your identity proof. If some information was changed, you are supposed to get it fixed and they are supposed to send you an updated card. It's not a driving license that someone would seize it because you were driving too fast.

Fuckers could have resolved this issue by having a digital card instead of a static paper one. Not that I am a fan of RFID cards but this is what you have when you develop another ID card with the exact features of existing ID cards.

Abuse as in - if I want more copies - I can just go to site, change my email address once and change it back to original one again.

And I get a new card!!

That way abuse of the system just to get fresh plastic cards without single rupee!

UIDAI warns against printing of plastic Aadhaar cards

The Aadhaar card or the downloaded Aadhaar card printed on ordinary paper is perfectly valid for all uses. If a person has a paper Aadhaar card, there is absolutely no need to get his/her Aadhaar card laminated or obtain a plastic Aadhaar card or so called smart Aadhaar card by paying money. There is no concept such as smart or plastic Aadhaar card, Ajay Bhushan Pandey, CEO of UIDAI, said in a statement.

Advising users to protect their privacy, Mr. Pandey asked public not to share their Aadhaar number or personal details with unauthorised agencies for getting it laminated, or printed on plastic card.

“UIDAI has cautioned unauthorised agencies not to collect Aadhaar information from general public for printing of Aadhaar card as collecting such information or unauthorised printing of Aadhaar card or aiding such persons in any manner amounts to a criminal offence punishable with imprisonment under Indian Penal Code and, also, Chapter VI of The Aadhaar (Targeted Delivery of Financial and Other Subsidies, Benefits and Services) Act, 2016,” the statement added.

But give it away on all kinds of forms from private companies with zero regard for privacy!
