UL plans compared - MTNL (Delhi + mumbai), Airtel

well i would say apart from the 256 combo plan rest of the plans are very costly for me. No one is going to opt for the 1299 plan just because it has 500 free calls. I was expecting some major price cuts this time from MTNL since they have lost their EDGE over airtel in terms of pricing. The only thing that kept me to MTNL was the pricing. But it's no longer the same.:wall::wall:

Ideally speaking these guys should come up with a 30 - 50GB plans on 2Mbps and within 1000 bucks.... which would appeal to those normal unlimited users..... i dont think MTNL or BSNL or anyone for that matter has made any real progress after launching the so called ADSL lines the prices have not come down drastically for an entry level user from the past year and half..... Paying 999 bucks (Mumbai) for 256 kbps is simply over the top... this should have come down to atleast 500 bucks by now.... that brings us to the next question as to why the hell is the same service available at ~ 45% discount in delhi????some sort of discounting has always been the norm in delhi but 45% is too much.... :madness:

well, it might be because they don't have real competitors in Mumbai. Here they are competing against airtel and thus chargers are less. Anyhow after the recent price slash MUMBAI plans are cheaper than Delhi. They are now providing 512Kbps for 999 Rs now while we pay 1299 for the same.

Need more better plans for Mtnl, Mumbai. They should cut the rate of existing plans or increase the usage limit.

Strangely enough, there's still no MTNL ad in the physical newspaper copy (at least TOI). I'd have thought they'd be shouting it from the rooftops.Personally, 1000 bucks is my upper limit for a monthly internet bill. I switched to MTNL few months ago because my previous connection was starting to become unstable. Apart from a few initial hiccups, MTNL service has been reliable for me. Another bonus is I live less than 500 metres from the exchange.Eventually, I'd like a 1 Mbps connection for around 1000 bucks but for now, this will suffice.A small request: Could folks post as soon as they get upgraded to their higher speed? It gives me something to look forward to.

Well, i too had no clue at all regarding the upgradation. Its only due to forum that i am aware now.

wat i dont understand is y scrap the 2mbps NU plan in delhi?? according to me its still THE BEST plan in terms of value for money irrespective of the day limit...dont think mtnl cud ever be gud enuf:|:|:wall:
