I have just joined this forum to reply to this thread being supposedly controlled by 'essbebe' - man I have searched a lot on net for my BSNL problems and I arrive on broadbandforum.co hoping to find a good solution and 99 times out of 100, I do not find your responses helpful at all - you always ask questions and provide basic replies that do not help anyone. So, please stop posting wasteful messages just to increase your post count!!

The solution to the problem in this thread is following:-

For WinXP or lower:-

Download DrTCP from DrTCP windows tcp tuning and tweaking - dslreports.com and try setting the MTU to 1462 or 1430 or even 1400 if everything else fails.

For Vista:-

1. Start->Programs->Accessories->Right click Command Prompt and choose Run as Administrator (Vista)

2. Type the following:-

netsh interface ipv4 set subinterface "Local Area Connection" mtu=1430 store=persistent

3. You can try different values for mtu= above and change Local Area Connection to the name of your local network and also try putting the name of your Broadband connection there if it doesn't work.

This is how to post a working solution my friend!! The stuff you tell others is too basic ALWAYS!! Learn to post something useful!!

Btw, sorry if my comments came on as hard but I was sick and tired of reading worthless posts. Thanks

Admin @Sushubh is now going to expel/ban me !
I will wait for your quick response to queries in the thread, as the main intention of the forum is to help the users to solve their internet problem/s. The earliest the problem is solved the better, and a novice like me learns from your responses. also.
Iwill not respond to any posting for 24 hours , and will wait for your comments for all postings
in this forum and sub forums. deleted at 1416PM

Nothing against you my friend but asking basic/same questions and posting basic/same replies to all problems doesn't make anything faster..only slows things down. I know you have a lot of experience and possess a great deal of knowledge, so I just wanted you to make better posts! No hard feelings :)
And I don't want you to be banned lol

Look man I am not here to fight or argue with you and moreover, I do respect you, its just that the suggestions you make are very basic. Now anyone can search on Google and find the solutions and people mostly post their problem on forums when they have tried everything they can. Like /members/gpk_mbbs had tried everything you told already.....so your posts did not help. Anyways, I don't know you and you don't know me.....so its better we don;t judge anyone. I am sorry if my harsh comments made you feel bad :) Ok now we are cool?

I do not have XP, so I can't help tht guy but I can still try but I don't have enough time. I already said I only joined this forum because I was sick n tired of basic replies- no serious offence against you ok? You are doing a great service by being a regular poster and keeping everyone happy:) Keep it up my friend!!

I also think there was an English usage problem as my suggestion was taken as 'what I wanted' or 'what I did not want'. When we say 'I just wanted you to do something better' - it is a suggestion and an advice - not an order ok? English is a PHUNNY language buddy:P

Chillax!!

UPDATE: I just posted a working solution that would have worked without the Registry editing :)

excuse my meddling in this affair but i would like to correct this point.i have seen people posting on this forum who don't even know the difference between pppoe & bridge mode.those who don't know what a port is & what are static/dynamic IP's.some don't even know the difference between KB & Kb & most of the times it is something very basic which they were doing wrong.i am not saying that every user here is like that but majority of those who posted their problem here do.after all who would post a problem here if he knows how to use google search to solve their problem.i never had any problem for which i had to post in a forum to get the answer all i did was google search & believe me the range of my problems covered everything from decrypting SAM/SYSTEM files using rainbow tables to adding device drivers to a custom made XP installation CD.

Changing the MTU has been suggested often in this forum.
I can't access some websites ... why? - Ask Leo!

MTU, Partial Loss of Internet Connection, and Performance
* An easy solution to most problems is to change MTU to 1400.
* If you are willing to experiment, gradually reduce MTU as described in \"Details of MTU\",
below.
How to Change a Computer's MTU
Note: If you change MTU on one computer, change it on your other computers, switches, and
routers, as well. Instructions for changing MTU on other Netgear devices is found in the Reference Manuals, in the sections explaining Advanced
Features.

The third party Dr. TCP software can be used to change the MTU setting.
1. Download it from this link,

DrTCP windows tcp tuning and tweaking - dslreports.com
choosing the zip file or the exe file at the top of the page.
2. Run the utility.
3. In the Adapter Settings pull down, select the Ethernet driver and adapter used to connect with the network.
4. In the MTU box, type the MTU size you are trying.
5. Click in any other box, without changing the data there.
6. Click Save.
7. Click Exit.
8. Restart the computer.
