fiber dsl broadband?! Are you on airtel ftth or airtel vdsl? I am thinking of shifting to either airtel or act but unfortunately both have threads here about fake added usage GB. Anyway I'd recommend openwrt or ddwrt if u have a cheap router that doesn't support bandwidth monitoring, I had the same issue back in 2015 when I used to have my FUP finished before I expected and had no way of verifying the usage. But changing passwords and strict monitoring is the only way to figure out what's going on. i certainly wouldn't trust any ISP by their face value.I have a 40 mbps fiber dsl broadband 200 GB per month. My typical data load is less than 1 GB per day. But within few days of billing cycle I get e mail from airtel that I have used 50% of available data and within 15 days all gets used up. On airtel app I noticed that on some days there is severe upload data usage. I changed my Wi-Fi password twice. Also I changed my Router password twice but the misuse continues.
I am concerned about the security of my net data if someone has access to my account.
When I called Airtel they offered ad-hoc 500 GB but even that has been used up by somebody.
Wondering what to do?
WOW THANK YOU! I learnt so many interesting things from just randomly browsing this forum. Of all the opensource firewalls I knew, I was somehow not introduced to simplewall and bitmeter OS, I learnt that router os lacked support for DoH and DoT something even lede has. I got to know about various games ISPs play to screw customers, etcjust use glasswire/simplewall/ bitmeter OS to see which program is uploading how much data exactly at what times.
