I recently decided to try out the gigabit plan from Airtel. It was just a one click upgrade for me, the plan speed changed from 200 to 1Gig in seconds although a ticket has been raised for installation, maybe the need to upgrade the router as well.
As per the Airtel thanks App, the plan is still showing as 200 Mbps only, it's been more than 24 hours. They has also raised a ticket for plan change which shows "in progress". Till now nobody has contacted me for upgrading the router nor the OTT benefits with the gigabit plan are showing up on the app.
Speeds are pretty decent. I am using the TP-Link G3 ONU with with Asus RT-AX82U router.
Attaching some screenshots for the speedtest just for reference.

Speeds on steam and epic games seemed to be capped at 700-800 Mbps, maybe my SSD is a bottleneck. Speeds are consistent even during peak time(6pm-11pm).
Over Wifi I am getting 750-800 Mbps down and 500-600 up. (Macbook pro M4 with 160Mhz enabled). On iPhone 12, 600-700 down and 400-500 up.

These speed tests are done over IPv4 only(dynamic public IPv4), i have disabled IPv6.
