It's been little over a week and the connection speeds have been dropped to half. Tried all the basic troubleshooting techniques. Airtel didn't even bother to officially activate the plan and change the router. It still shows 200 Mbps on the app and the same is confirmed via CC. They said that the upgrade to 1Gbps requires a router change and the order is still pending.
What a dumb move I must say. Customer is ready to pay but still they don't want to provide the speed asked for.
Initially the speeds were 900 Mbps+ consistently and I was pretty happy but now for some reason it has been capped to 500 Mbps, I checked on different servers and it doesn't cross 470-480 Mbps.

If Airtel is reading this just let me know who's your supplier and what drugs are you guys on?

Can't change my plan until the current request of 1gbps upgraded is fulfilled or cancelled. Classic Airtel

Call customer care and request for plan change cancelation. But I feel you are getting more for your plan so it's not a issue yet. Obviously getting upgraded to proper 1Gbps would have been better.

I did call them a couple of times to cancel it, they say it will be done in 24 hrs but no luck. Koi sunwaayi nahi hai Airtel mein if you run into problems. Inke bewakuf customer care se ladte raho bas.
I wanted to add IPTV to my plan but unable to do so because of this pending order, neither they are fulfilling it nor cancelling it.

@87056
you said in your post above that you are using "TP-Link G3 ONU" along with your other router.
could you please link me the tp link g3 onu router which you have bought as there are two model by same name?

Btw I am selling my TP-Link G3 ONU for 900+ shipping as I want to upgrade to a 2.5G VSOL ONU. Got it for 1390 last month. If you're interested let me know or else I have shared the link from LT store.

Used Airtel 1 gbps for a year during COVID when my company was kind enough to pay the bill.Downgraded to 300 mbps then 200 mbps when had to pay for it myself.ZERO real world difference and don’t forget the FUP is still 3.3 TB so not recommended for heavy downloaders either..If you are a serious downloader you could get a second excitel connection and it still will cost less than half the Airtel 1 gbps plan.

Seriously poor product management in the 1 gbps space..for 3999+tax one should provide 10TB FUP+ complimentary 3-5 mobile connections+ premium 4K OTT till the time the plan is active instead of the one year only scam and maybe a premium customer service experience with people who know what a bridge mode is etc.
