A lot of people still don't. If you ask them what their UPI ID is, they'll be puzzled.
I have seen people that only know how to enter the PIN. What happens after entering the PIN? No idea.
This is widespread with the older generation that has adopted UPI.

Got annoyed today loading the wallet on Skypro selffcare app. There are 2 payment options, SBIePay and Billdesk. First annoyance was not having the option to enter UPI ID. And then getting some error on SBIePay QR not accepting payment. Also, error on Pay by any UPI app intent. Finally, I was able to pay with Billdesk QR code.

Even some major retailors using rajorpay blacked out the UPI options damn them

Speaking of razorpay, avoid it if there is an alternative. Privacy is shaddy at the moment in razorpay (based on my own interaction last week and the following tweets)...
