( or mention model number here )Open Device Manager and see ethernet card listed or not.USB driver for VISTA use with MT841 impossible to get it.with Xp driver may work.First disconnect usb cable to laptop from modem. Insert BSNL CD. Extract driver to say C:/bsnl 841 USBRe connect usb cable.Restart system.Let Windows detect new hardware.follow procedure.Para two: (1)Exchange MT841 for another type II or Type IVmodem. or ask them for a wireless card.
most ( infact all) laptops do come with a LAN Port , check carefully it should be there!!go to control panel->network connections . do you see local area connection?
