Hello all,
As stated i want to use my old BSNL modem an1020-21 as a modem or switch.
Just to give an idea :
1. I used this modem previously, now i am using D-Link dsl 2750u modem router for my bsnl connection.
Now I have tried using this bsnl model for hathway cable internet at my friend's place. I tried following things :
1. Connected hathway modem to LAN 1 of bsnl.
2. Connected LAN 2 of bsnl modem to PC.
3. In modem config, i used it as a bridged as well as routed connection.
4. Using the above config, i could access the net by wired connection.
But i couldnt access :
1. bsnl modem settings (192.168.1.1)
2. Hathway modem setting ( 192.168.100.1)(BUT IF ANY MODEM CONNECTED TO PC INDIVIDUALLY, I CAN ACCESS THE SETTINGS)
3. Cannot connect mobile to wifi(everything configured for wifi).Mobile devices get connected to wifi but internet is nt connected to wifi.
This is one problem, what should i do to access wifi? i think i am halfway through.
Now can i use the same Bsnl modem as a router/switch for my dlink modem router?
If yes, how do i do it?If not, then why not?
I am technically aware of all networking terms, so if anyone can guide or explain me in right direction, i would be glad.
Thanking everyone..bt i really need to make use of that BSNL modem.
