I have an MTNL TKD wifi modem installed in my house. But, I am unable to get the signals in the basement. I was wondering if my MTNL TKD modem can be converted into a repeater with which I can attach a buffalo router / access point which I already have, which will enable me to use the same internet connection in my basement. Please help..!!

You may try directional antenna, with its direction pointing downwards. OR putting modem at one end of house instead of center of house with antenna direction adjusted accordingly. All these may require trial error though but worth a try as it might avoid lots of hassle.

do you have 2 mtnl modems please be clear. if its one mtnl and one buffalo then the buffalo can be made into a repeater.
