Hi,
I recently signed up for an Excitel connection and have been pretty happy with the speeds so far. But I received the terrible GX ONT/Router which is completely locked down and doesn't allow for basic things like bridge mode and port forwarding. I was wondering if I could replace it with the TP-Link XZ000-G3 V2 and spoof the ONT Mac address and serial number on to it. Would this work? Has anyone given it a shot yet?

Get V1 and update to latest firmware. V2 has firmware problems.

1. Usually you need correct spoofing of GPON SN, PLOAM Password to get your ONU in O5 state.
2. Then you need correct VLAN
3. Next you need PPPoE credentials. If not then read next:
4. If your ISP is using Automatic IP, then you also need to clone GX ONT/Router's MAC address too.

@phattunit Thanks a ton for the instructions.
The GX router is pretty locked down, here's a screenshot of what info I have access to. Would it be possible to parse out VLAN details from here?

Also, I'm not entirely sure what Excitel uses as a PLOAM password. My user profile page has these details, ONU Serial No., ONU Mac Address, and Mac Address (I'm guessing this is for the built-in Router).

Excitel doesnt use VLANs. You can contact me on telegram and we will get it working with excitel. @neesht

Excitel uses S/N(for ONU to OLT authentication) and WAN Mac(for internet access), no need of PLOAM and shit.
