Can we use USB and Ethernet interface provided in the UT300R2U MODEM connecting two computers for internet??

thanks essbee,1. I am able to download the usb drivers and install.2. when i use only USB port one computer , i am able to access the internet.3. When i try to connect the second computer ( LAPtop) (along with USB connectivity in other computer ) with default gateway 192.168.1.1. i am not able to access the internet in both the computers.4. but both computer works when only USB or ethernet ( ony one connected). Is it possible to connect both ( connected to two computers) and work ??5. In USB connection , any IP has to be set???, ( Since it is only for LAN CARD )

You are mixing up. 1 & 2 OK. 3. not possible . 4. see below.
A..Your modem has two ports. USB port to USB port of computer 1 or 2
B................................... Lan port ===Rj45==.>> to Ethernet port of computer 1 or 2
C.Computer 1 or 2 must have an ethernet card installed. for B above
D: Both USB and LAN cables should not be connected to same computer..

I am sorry for mixing the issue, Let me tell you completely,

[*]My scope / AIM : Providing the Internet connection to two computers
[*]I have two computers ( laptop and desktop), with USB and Ethernet port in both the computers.
[*]I have BSNL broad band connection, the modem given is UT 300R 2U which has two interface ports namely USB and Ethernet.
[*]I want to use the both ports of modem UT 300R 2U simultaneously & establish internet connection to both the computers. This can be done by connecting
[*] First computers Ethernet port =è to Modem Ethernet port by using Ethernet cable.
[*] Second computer USB port =è to modem USB port by using the USB cable.
[*]In first computer the default Getaway is 192.168.1.1 ( since it is Ethernet )
[*]In second computer I have loaded the USB driver, the computer also detecting the modem when the modem is connected and powered on.
[*]My question is any default gateway has to be set at second computer?? ( I feel it not required, since it is USB )
[*]I have checked individual computers works fine
[*]That is configuration 4a connection is present and 4b connection is NOT present and vice versa.
[*]when both of them are connected as explained above i.e 4a and 4b it is not working
[*]Is any other setting required???
When say desktop is connected to USB it accesses default gateway 192.168.1.1When the other computer( laptop) is connected to LAN port it should also access above.Change TCP/IP settings in both computers :select assign automatic IP's.Usually to access USB page 192.168.1.2 is reserved.Connect as above and check Start/run type cmd type ipconfig/all in desktop and laptop. Default Gateways ???

Hi Ganga,I was wondering if you could get to the answer you were looking for?Apparently reading most of the other posts on this topic - experienced people replying the post typically draw the inference that you need to connect two PC's to each other (i.e. form a network with them).I think you put your requirement in a crystal clear way - How to ensure that both the PC's are connected to the internet using this modem and using the USB and Ethernet ports provided by the modem. Please let me know if you have found the solution.
