Please help me I am not able to have these settings applied correctly on windows 2003 serverIt asks for login id and password for modem to reboot

The default username is admin and the password is also admin unless you have changed it.

@Zag User ID is admin and password is utstar. ( As mentioned by Venkz , unless changed by you or others . In which case you have to reset the modem for 30 seconds with power on.
( use a ballpen refill . You have to enter all details again )
Reference :BROADBAND MAIN MENU
( add to bookmarks or Favorites)

Para two : I think I missed the question. It is windows 2003 server asking
login ID ( as given by mtnl probably your telephone number ) and Password xxxxxxxxx
Confirm you are connecting to internet now always on. and want to change to dialup( bridge) mode.

Hi cyberwiz, I was trying to use your script to reboot ut300r2u. 192.168.1.1 23WAIT "Login"SEND "admin\m"WAIT "Password"SEND "admin\m"WAIT "> "SEND "reboot\m" The telnet session says that it is "Waiting for : >" and does not send the reboot command. Once i press the enter key it sends the reboot command and the router reboots. Please help me :( .....

hey guys, is the thread still running or is it dead....can some one help me out.....

CYBERWIZ ,
Help please :-)
Thanks in advance , pls scroll down ,

reliability of connection will always depend on MTNL

When this prob occurs use nslookup from the command prompt with a different DNS server to ascertain if the prob is with DNS or the gateway is failing u . Dont go by the router notification that link is up...always do tracert/ping with an IP address and not domain name (will eliminate DNS issue and tell where the problem is)

CYBERWIZ
In the command window I type ipconfig/all , the default gateway and DNS that I get there ; I ping them , I get reply for the default gateway but DNS time out , it means that the problem is associated with the DNS and the connection is OK since default gateway is giving reply ?

I think Ymessemger does the DNS lookup only once while loggin on..so even if DNS fails it would be having the IP address of the server so u should not log out..as far as chatting is concerned..the connection to remote party is handled by the Ymessenger server....Here i know for sure that the initiation is done by the messenger server but i am not sure if the chat conversation is also relayed through the server or by direct IP connection as in the case of skype. In either case once the chat conversation has started DNS failure should not affect it.

Cyberwiz,
whenever I log out of YM and the webpages dont open and the ADSL link is up , I ping the default gateway and the DNS , the same way as stated above , I get reply from D gateway but DNS times out , so is the problem associated with the DNS ? If yeh , then whats the permanent solution of this DNS ?

As far as reconnection is concerned windows PPPOE client is less reliable than the PPP daemon running on the router..

I am in bridge mode and connecting through WAN PPPOE , whats this PPP ? pls help . Should I shift to PPP
U are mixing port forwarding with QoS, both are different..but even u want to use qos .its only outgoing qos that u can effectively use incoming QoS is futile

How do i know? thats for u to decide

Google

Some one said me that if I keep on pinging the default gateway and the DNS server , I wont be DC with the ISP and I will get a dedicated internet connection ; is it true according to u ?
If I keep the cmd window open pinging continously the D gatway and the dns , will if get dedicated connection ?

Thank YOU

Hi cyberwiz,

I was trying to use your script to reboot ut300r2u.

192.168.1.1 23
WAIT "Login"
SEND "admin\m"
WAIT "Password"
SEND "admin\m"
WAIT "> "
SEND "reboot\m"

The telnet session says that it is "Waiting for : >" and does not send the reboot command. Once i press the enter key it sends the reboot command and the router reboots. Please help me :( .....

that will keep u connected only if the ISP auto-disconnects u after a specific Idle period..if disconnection is due to line problem then it will not help u..

yahan sab laal laal kyun hai bhaaaaaai....BTW... who told u about the pinging crap... If that was the case, then Microsoft would have built a tool that would keep pinging the IP by default and Windows would be the only OS in the world that would never be disconnected from the Internet... even if the default gateway goes down.... hehheheNo brother... it doesnt happen that way... if u keep pinging, u will just get the result if the IP u are pinging is reachable or not. It does not guarantee you a dedicated connection!

i have followed the tutorial word to word...i'm on PPPoe mode and on the scheduled time i get this message but it does NOT reboot!!! :wall:
plz help :(
