Actually I had learnt Vedic Maths and I was amazed at how logical it was.

And vedic maths was very fast too. I can still multiply huge numbers on paper in just one line! (not in brain though)

I always wondered - why our schools didnt teach us multiplication this way?

Ofcourse I dont use vedic maths in normal life - as my knowledge about it is very limited.

Besides Javadekar, his MoS Satyapal Singh who was also present at the event, claimed that modern education has failed to check the growing crime rates. “Every child in India should be sent to a gurukul for the first five years. Only Vedic education can nurture our children well and make them patriots who have a mental discipline,” Singh reportedly stated at the event.

i can understanding having it as a subject. but five years in a gurukul sounds kind of scary.

also not sure if it is the job of schools to make students patriotic.
