Very Slow Speeds via phone ?

I am getting really slow speeds, despite 100% signal quality at my home. Some times however it drops to 60% !
Am using Sony Ericsson w705 to connect ? Could that be an issue ?
because if i continue to get slow speeds, then there is no point in continuing! Will it get better with a Huawei modem ?
I am currently on the first seven day unlimited plan !

same case here with blackberry storm 9530 , speeds rarely cross 300kbps for me. saw speeds of 1mbps only a few times. i already running latest desktop & phone software for blackberry 9530. any ideas to get better speeds ?
