Latency is so bad in Vi that it is impossible to use for RDP/Office Work purposes.
I am rethinking my life choices of getting into Vi.
Plus these SamsungSmartphones have a QoS that shape traffic so hard that latency goes through the roof.
Apparently according to them, social media and youtube is critical traffic packets; while pulse secure ESP packets is not.
Looks like the guys out here blow up a good portion of their data package on speedtests I was upgraded to 5G by Jio on my connections recently I'll be damned if I use up my data pack for these silly things...I tested it 2-3 times (a set of results shared here) and let it go, though Jio claims it is "unlimited". I'll be happy with LTE because as expected 5G is nothing but hot air atleast for me. I am back to 5G auto on both SIMS while my wife's SIM is yet to be upgraded.
Hello all! Reviving this thread for a query on this very plan.
So I took up Vi Postpaid a couple of days ago in Kolkata and I'm pretty sure I'm still capped to 50down/8up. Whenever I do a speedtest (which I'm refraining myself from doing too often, considering how much data I've previously wasted in speedtests but anyway) speeds initially cross the 70mbps mark but eventually settle around the 50-53 mbps mark. Same for uploads - ramping up to 25mbps but then going down to 8mbps. Contacted customer care but they seemed unaware of anything as such.
I'm getting pretty decent signal strength and 3CA, so I'm pretty sure the network can handle a lot more. Is there anything that I can do to remove this cap or am I stuck with it?
Well, I haven't left home much since I got the connection, but so far I have noticed this happening in two locations. I thought it might be congestion, but results are pretty much similar at night. Will test more as and when I'm out.
They literally have around 50Mhz of spectrum across all bands and they still keep speeds capped! This is truly sad. Granted 50Mbps is more than enough for me on mobile, but what a wasted potential! Anyhow, it is what it is, I suppose.
