Visiting Mumbai for 1 mo - need help selecting

I am visiting Mumbai / Thane for one month ... and need help selecting a broadband plan. I am told MTNL has the fastest speed. I need to VPN to my corporate network in the US ... and need the fastest possible pipe. Which plan would you recommend ? Thanks !!

pal, its mtnl's plan name.849 NU means 2 mbps NU @ 849 Rs. per month.All other plans r BAKWAAS

u need a temporary 1 month connection

Thats means u'll need out of turn allotment.
Plus since you need fastest bandwidth
so choose plan 4 from this link

of course you would need to have provide the required documents like address proof and other stuff. and you would have to be lucky to get the connection in time. i am not sure if MTNL faces the same modem shortage problem like BSNL.

i guess what you need is Honesty, i heard that they have VHS internet connections available for a very good price. sorry i don't have more info on them nor am i sure if they have services in Thane region.

if u r visiting mumbai and thane then u have no option but to go for GPRS based connection, as u wont get internet connection that works at both places. plus noone knows how much time MTNL will take to provide out-of-turn connection too. plus it wud be costly 300 installation+500 modem+ plan rent.vodafone mobile connect gives good EDGE connection, airtel shud also be equally good (i havent used or seen it)

EDGE /GPRS connections are usually slow in daytime coz of network congestionand at night they usually lask tech support till the next dayThey have 24hr helplines that give u a docket number and make u wait a few hours/days till someone fixes it or u call again:wall:
