BANGALORE -- Vodafone Essar Ltd., the Indian unit of the U.K.'s Vodafone Group PLC, said Thursday it has crossed the 100 million subscribers mark in the country.

just imagine the money they earn per day. assuming 50% = 50miilion each making atleast 1Re call per day (rent included) = 50million Rs per day = 5 cr Rs per day. = 150cr per month ~ 2billion rs per year.this is least value. actual earnings shud be higher.this is just one telecom operator. there are 3-4 more biggies.no wonder there are so many new operators coming in every now and then.

Reliance gave away UL calling (for 24 hours) as a part of the 100 million subscriber celebrations. I wonder what Vodafone has in store for their customers ..

As a service gesture, Vodafone has waived off the cost on agent-assisted call center charging till 10 May 2010.

^^^ ... so that every one can call their agents and congratulate Vodafone on achieving this feat. LOL

What are the chances that the CC wouldn't know how much 100 million is in crores :D
