NEW DELHI: Telecom major Vodafone Essar on Thursday announced per-second billing scheme for long distance and international calls using its 'World
Calling Cards', further fuelling the ongoing tariff war among the operators.

The new 'world calling cards', for prepaid and postpaid users, will offer STD calls at one paise per second, Vodafone said in a statement.

Calls made to US/Canada through these cards would be charged at 4 paise per second, while calls to the Gulf region would be available at 12 paisa per second. UK/Europe (fixed) would be available for 4 paise/sec, while calls to mobile phones in the region would be charged at 12 paise/sec.
