Hi All,

I got my new BSNL Modem today (WA3002G4). I followed following URL to turn OFF WLAN.

New Page 1

During that I deleted all Bridge protocoles in WAN setup page at 192.168.1.1.

I saved and did a Reboot router - after that the DSL LED went OFF and I couldnt open any page including 192.168.1.1.

I tried a master reset by pressing RESET switch on modem for 20 seconds - but it didnt show any indication that a reset is happening.

Please help - thanks in advance.

The mistake you made was saving & rebooting when you had deleted some entries by mistake. A simple switch off of the modem,& a on after a couple of minutes would have been a better option :). Anyway you will have to reset the modem. An indication of this happening is all lights going off & then coming on. Sometimes if the pin you are using is very thin, then you might have to 'fish around :)' to succeed. After resetting then follow the instructions given in the link you have mentioned in your post. Best of luck.

Problem
Lamp Indication:
(1)Power : Power LED will glow as soon as you switch on the modem. YES_

(2)DSL: DSL LED will blink first and then settle permanently in yellow, NO
( if the connectivity between the modem and the exchange broadband equipment is perfect and extablished.)

(3)Internet: Internet LED will glow when you are connected to the internet.NO

(4)WLAN: WLAN LED will glow if wireless is enabled in your modem. No

(5)
If the connectivity between your modem and computer is OK,
two LEDs on either side of the LAN socket
will glow in the back panel of your modem. YES confirm

Suggestion :
Start RUN type cmd OK
New Window
type ping 192.168.1.1
Post result
Suggestion 2
same steps as above.
type Ipconfig /all
post result.

suggestion 3:
Switch on System first.
Wait.
then switch on modem.

Feedback.

thanks socrates and essbebe for your replays.

socrates:

When i put a stick into the reset hole, i can feel that i am pressing some switch - but nothing happens. My modem was ON that time and was connected to the splitter.

BTW, That site said to delete those bridge connections!

essbebe:

Here is the results. pinging timed out. Switching on the modem after the computer also didnt work for me :(

BTW, the problem description in essbebe's post was exactly same as mine...

keep the reset button pressed till you see all the lights in the modem switch on and off. that means you modem has reset successfully.

yea.. i held the reset switch pressed for over a minute. Nothing happened. I think it has got some hardware issues. I will ask the BSNL persons to replace it.

Possibly the reset button has a mechanical problem, because of which it cant reset the unit, your decision is a good one ask them to replace it. :)

Closing the thread, modem had some hardware issues - they replaced the modem and now working fine...However it’s difficult to deal with these persons... while registering the complaint they didn’t accept my mobile number! I had to forward my landline calls to my mobile to receive their follow-up. They don’t work on second Saturdays - I took half day leave to receive them at their convenience ;)However, things were easy as I was in good terms with my line-manThank you all for the reply
