Watch TATA(Sky HD on computer moniters (with out a TV Tuner Card)

I can confirm.... Tata Sky HD and Tata Sky HD PLUS both output HD on YPbPr (component) output. You do not (I repeat, You do not) need a converter.Essentially every VGA connector is basically a different form YPbPr connector. These are pin-compatible, meaning you can create a YPbPr to VGA connector by just soldering the right connections, you don't need to put any circuitry in beteeen :)I created by my own YPbPr to VGA cable. There are many available in market for 300 to 1000.

now I got the point...Tata Sky-HD outputs HD on YBR. but I didn't find that cable (YBR to VGA) readily in the market or in eBay. anyways I will try to find one.

Thank you.

Here you go VGA Cable from CAT5

hicould anyone please show a simplest method to buy to cables RCA & VGA and cut and solder them together.a simple diagram or picture showing "how to" will be a great help. All I want is to use an old LCD monitor along with a Tata Sky Set top box (Without using a TV Tuner Card) (Use external speakers for sound)Regardspreetam

Hi Prafulla, Thanks for the amazing tips , u have provided .. I am going to try the 3rd scenario .. I got a cable 3rca to vga . I have a Dell lcd monitor with vga port , will connect that to ypbpr port of the set-top box. Will let u know if it worked or not .. keeping my finger crossed .. :)

Im also not a fan of converters... but Tata Sky-HD is not outputting HD on AV. I dont know whether it can output HD about YBR. So, I tried the converter HD->VGA which is awesome. no signal loss.

Someone please confirm whether TataSky-HD is outputting HD video on YBR.

That may be then.

As of July-2012, TataSkyHD DOES NOT output HD in Component mode. That is, if you attach component (YPbPr) cables, you will get only 720x576 (SD) resolution.

For 1920x1080 (FHD) resolution, you have to connect the HDMI cable.

Perhaps you can try out an HDMI-DVI convertor to get the Full HD view on your PC monitor.

Also, the HDMI stream may be HDCP enabled, in which case, you cannot convert it into analog signals like RCA / YPbPr / VGA. Can anyone confirm if HDMI can be SUCCESSFULLY converted into analog like VGA / component? If yes, then it means HDCP is NOT enabled!

u need to buy hdmi port enable monitor

Yes, but not all PC monitors with HDMI can play HDCP-enabled content.

Before buying PC monitor having HDMI input, better to make doubly sure that it supports HDCP protocol.
