Big TV CEO quits to join Dish TV
The Reliance Big TV DTH service, a subsidiary of Reliance Communications, has lost its head. CEO Arun Kapoor has quit the company and joined Dish TV just four months after joining the organisation and a couple of months after the launch of the service.
BIG TV had only recently announced its expansion plans and subscriber target. Ever since Reliance entered the DTH arena, the competition started to step up. Other players like Dish TV, Tata Sky, and Airtel's Digital TV have been getting aggressive with sales. Kapoor’s exit at this crucial stage presents major problems for Big TV, since it will have to hunt for a leader again, and its competitors will make use of his departure.
The company is tightlipped about Kapoor’s departure. Its PR agency told the Examiner it had heard nothing about Kapoor’s exit
