I believe Airtel is working on some cheap tactics to charge you separately for 1) Skype and other VOIP2)P2P etc.,They might stop you from using Skype,Yahoo voice,Google Voice etc in future and ask you to take some add on plans if you need those. They may also come up with plans to ad-don charges if you need to use P2P after certain GB of download :)Don't think these may not happen. The way Airtel policies are set , these can happen very soon. Mark my word! They have got enough chuck of DLS subscribers and they just want to milk them to the MAX without investing more on new infrastructure.

This is known as net neutrality. If they do then its game on.I will sue them .GO and check the net neutrality sub forum.Isp's are trying to make the net like a cable tv system effectively destroying the internet.

India isps follow US isps.Fup was started in usa and the disease came here, same with p2p throttling but it was deemed illegal in usa.In UK isps openly state that they throttle torrents for bandwidth management.

Here airtel is doing secretly ,which effectively means that they are violating consumer protection act 1986 and can be sued.
TRAI on net neutrality in 2006:

This was done as cartoon, but I am thinking yes airtel is going to offer something like this in future, SO much for net neutrality!! AIRTEL

Guys,I have info from reliable source about their DPI solution that throttles the torrent at present . They are trying to experiment blocking services like VoIP and as separate plans. Not sure it will get a final go ahead . But chances are bright. That' the reason I put it in this section. May be this thread can be moved to "Net-Neutrality"

It will be really stupid and idiotic move by Airtel it they do this, blogger and tech enthusatics will burry them alive by online protest this would be it.Whats next by Indian ISP's oh this guys email conversation is important or he is ftp a file to a server charge him more I doubt this will happen.
